Stress
What is stress?
Firstly, stress isn't just a stimulus or a response. Stress is a process in which we perceive and respond to a stressor that we deem as threatening or challenging.
Many incoming high school students are taught throughout middle school that high school is no walk in the park. Assignments are more time consuming, teachers grade harder, and your peers are more aggressive. Everyone copes with stress differently, but for some it can take a toll and it is very important to recognize the signs before they become too extreme.

How Can I Avoid Stress?
The simplest answer to this question is to be organized: have a planner, write down goals, get a sectioned binder. The more organized your schoolwork is, the less you need worry about. Another way to avoid stress is to plan out your assignments; don't do all your projects last minute. On the same note of doing things last minute, do not check your grades right before the end of the quarter/semester. Checking and maintaining your grades throughout the year is a way to healthily avoid stress and bring up your self esteem.
